ABOUT THE ART CART
Throughout time art has been an integral part of a child’s development and exploration, but today art has become secondary in education throughout schools across the United States. Many studies show that doing art helps develop important skills as children learn and grow. Some of these skills include:
- Fine motor skills and hand eye coordination from using tools
- Cognitive development and critical thinking skills from visualizing their creations
- Math skills for things such as spatial relationships and geometry
- Language skills by learning to articulate their process and intentions
- Creativity by being allowed to explore and experimentation
The Art Cart’s purpose is to help support the development of these skills by providing mobile Art programs that can be taught anywhere.

WE BUILD A HOLISTIC ART EXPERIENCE WITH THESE CORE AREAS:
ART SKILLS
The foundation of art is learning the skills for creating art. Our drawing and painting classes focus on teaching students:
- How to use pen, pencils and brushes
- How to care for supplies and clean their brushes
- Basic art concepts such as light, shadow, tones, and perspectives
ART THEORY
We also include art theory with our classes because in order to become better skilled, it is important to understand concepts such as:
- Color use, color space and mixing colors
- Use of negative and positive space
- Light and shadow work
- “Looking” at objects as they are
APPRECIATION
Art is something that needs to be talked about and shared. Many art programs do well with teaching the basic skills but do not help develop the skills for having conversations about art or helping young artist articulate what their art means, why they created it or how to give and receive constructive feedback to move forward.
